Vision
After decades of increased nationwide polarization and the erosion of shared values, Utah is ready for a political movement toward the common good that is built on common ground and accomplished with common sense. Utah is ready for Solidarity.
Solidarity is both a practice and an ideal. The word invokes an array of associations, from the popular uprising which liberated Poland from the grips of Communism to the American struggle for the rights of workers. Ultimately, it means unity in the pursuit of justice. Solidarity is imperative at times when a lack of social cohesion can threaten a community's goals: "united we stand, divided we fall." We are in just such a time.
Today's American Solidarity Party began in 2011 out of concern for a political landscape that was (and has been since) shifting away from what ordinary Americans value. We found inspiration in our nation's own history as well as in Christian democratic movements around the world. Solidarians strive for an economic and social framework that works the best it can for everyone, including the most vulnerable and overlooked among us: children in the womb, single mothers, working families, migrants, the disabled, the ill, and the aging.
Now more than ever, our nation and our world rely on us Utahns to offer our unique values and talents to the cause of human flourishing. In Utah, we live solidarian principles every day, from dignifying life at all stages to improving our air quality, and from welcoming refugees to defending religious liberty. It's time for a political movement that puts Utah values front and center in the public square.
It's time for Solidarity!
